Since 1 May 2021, Queensland classifies low density asbestos fibre board (LDB) as friable asbestos, meaning it requires a Class A licensed removalist regardless of quantity. LDB was used as internal wall and ceiling lining in some Queensland homes and is often mistaken for ordinary fibro sheet. This distinction is important when budgeting: ordinary-looking sheet should not be assumed to be bonded asbestos cement.
